Our History
By For and About Women Radio is an innovative internet media company that was launched in 2005. It began as a single internet radio show delivered in a convenient on demand archived format designed for women. Today, By For and About Women Radio is an internet radio network offering a diverse mix of programs and content delivered live via streaming, on-demand archived, or in downloadable mp3 "podcast" formats. With listeners in over 35 different countries we are adding new shows, topics and resources each month.
Our Founder
Founder, Edie Galley had a strong background in radio having worked in the local South Florida market on AM talk radio before starting By For and About Women Radio. Her experience includes Production, Operations and Hosting on a weekly business talk show. Prior to working in radio Edie had over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing and has developed strategies and done consulting work for all types of businesses from entrepreneurs to Verizon, Novartis and A.C. Nielsen.
Edie is active in several organizations including The March of Dimes and Susan G. Komen Foundation. She has served on the Advisory Board for Keiser University, been a Graduate Leader for Dale Carnegie Training and Chaired the Women in Business Committee of the Chamber of the Palm Beaches. Her recognition and awards include Outstanding Young Woman of America, Outstanding Leader of the US Jaycees, The Mayors Award for Community Contributions and Verizon's Quest for Quality Award. Edie has been interviewed by a number of newspapers and publications, as well as other broadcast radio shows.
Giving Back
By For and About Women Radio believes in supporting women and giving back to the communities that support our cause. As a result, we earmark a portion of all profits to give to women's charities and help fund women owned businesses.
Advisory Board
By For and About Women Radio believes that staying up to date with technology and in tune with the needs of women is crucial to offering our listeners and partners the best product available. Our Advisory Board of successful and dedicated women helps us create the vision and develop the programs to support our listeners growth. Our Advisory Board members are located throughout the US and we are currently represented in the National Capital Area Chapter of American Women
in Radio and Television.
